went the route of FULL SOFTWARE, id probably rock the GURU software. for 250 bucks it looks like it can do alot and with somethin like an akai mpd32 or korg padkontrol itll be dope.

if i took things a step further when im @ home id rock str8 vinyl like i do now. when out and about id probably hit the local shop for CD reissues and world music to sample.

thatll be grounds for doin somethin i normaly dont do which is... sample from cds. its not a bad thing i just dont have the patience for diggin for cd's sometimes i feel ike it should be as abundent as mp3's.

just wanted to get the idea out there. if anyone has used this software let me know. im years aways from using it but its something i'd keep in mind

Plenty of awesome shit has been done with software. I played around around with the demo for Guru for a while. Almost bought it and it's still tempting. If I had one of the nicer pad controllers, it'd be a must have piece of software. I still prefer the freedom and focus you get with most hardware though.

i know what you mean, ive need had an attraction to any software outside of trying reaper/audition over pro tools.

it looks like a great interface and ur right, w/ the right pad set up itll be nuts.

i use a trigger finger through reason to do drums and chops. i also have a m audio keystation 49e aka the cheapest one i could buy a super long time ago when i had nothing and had no idea what i needed. only now have i figured out reason hahahha. but i use the 404 the most and micro korg.

i use the tf to do drums cause well its better, its a sequencer with velocity and airs out your chopped drums and ill chop like minute long samples (now that i figured out this computer bullshit) with the keyboard. then i loop dump everything onto the 404 and do the tracks live with the 404 with effects live everything live. its no different making a loop of drums and shit then if i were to make it on the 404 so i figured why fuck up my pads? haha

its works great i love it

thats a cool way to do it. cuz u can make the drums as gritty as you want.

ive sampled that way w/ my 606 b4. but the voice count can really be shot down quickly if you arent careful.

best part is about the voice count is that your drum is one pad instead of like 4 or 5 pads ya know? so you can have more stereo aka better to fuck with peoples heads.
