sample swapping forum area?

Post by cartesia »

Just a thought, could we have a sample-swapping forum area?

Or would that be avoided due to possibility of illegal samples?

Alot of us are sampling our own stuff and I'm sure a few of us are keen to share it with the rest - but putting it in one of the sp forums, or the production forum, kinda messes it up with everything else - whereas if you had one forum with threads titled say "my mate playing his bongo sample pack" or something. . itd be easy to find stuff (and could restrict searches to one area_)

I think sharing drums and synth stuff is a good idea, but in my opinion swapping samples is like swapping wives....it sure sounds fun but it'll get messy in the end. :)

haha .. . .you might be right.

Actually I think maybe youre definitely right. . we should encourage people to go and find their own stuff to help make music more diverse...

Maybe a "live recording" section talking about recording techniques etc?

I don't know about you but it makes me want to cry if I share a sample with someone and they flip it way better, but the battles are good to share a sample, interact with everyone about it and also up the skills.

I woudln't share anything special  just sorta stock standard sounds, like the synth set that i put up - theyre pretty basic detuned tones that anyone would come up with. .they still need to be messed with to make them unique
