Record Mode Toggle?

Post by soup »

Hi,

I was thinking of picking up a 303 to mess about with but I can't figure out if it will let me toggle in and out of record mode while playing. On most drum machines I can press record and then once the sequence starts playing when I press record again I can exit and enter record mode without the pattern ever stopping. Can I do this with the 303? I tried downloading the manual and I'm guessing it might be a no but I'm hoping otherwise. Thanks.

nope, you cant. You can however make a simple pattern, play it and play samples over id deciding which one to use, then push pattern select record, then the pattern you want to add stuff to and put the new sample into.

The 404 has a rehearsal mode during pattern sequencing. You just hit REC again while the pattern is running, and the screen changes to "REH". I went straight from a 202 to 404, so I've never sequenced on the 303. i'll see what happens on my boy's 303 later today and get back to ya. --D
