i saw that blog a while ago, and reading the comments was just aggrivating, everybody was trashing lib acting like he personally asked to have the tracks taken down cause he didn't want people to know about his samples, it definitely wasn't lib who contacted, if anybody it was wolf cause its his company that has to worry about the copyright issues cause they published and sold the album, and it's totally based off of the fact that it blatently says this track was sampled from this one on this cd, and if any of the people who own the rights to those old tracks saw this tape they would be able to sue the shit out of stones throw, potentially putting them out of business, it costs upwards of 10,000 to clear a sample nowadays, there are plenty of other means of finding the original samples, and i'm pretty sure madlib could give a fuck if you find his shit or not

and with that album, alot of the loops are fairly straight, but dude has plenty of beats that are chopped up in many different styles, i don't think he's worried about people thinkin he's foolin cause of that either

dry snitching

why people give a fuck is beyond me?

I never check those sites out because why would I want to know? what's dope is when I hear a record in the headphones and notice, "oh fuck, that was on the Blackmoon album!" not online, in complete nerd-dom, like oh, I'm gonna flip this better than Madlib

fuckkouttahere

Gangstarr also called out those dudes making the Dusty Fingers records for posting sample sources, because especially after you already sold albums, they know you made loot from it and will be mad greedy

I had a roommate when I lived up in the Bay who worked for Fantasy Records... in the royalty dept. All that dude did all day was look for people who were infringing on their copyrights. He was a bitch ass. What makes it even weaker is that dude was trying to start up a hip hop label, and would always talk mad shit about sample based producers. All he made was keyboard beats off the triton and software shit. That's one of the things that is killin the vibe... and why a lot of what the majors are putting out sounds like over-produced garbage imo.
