Compression hardware/software with the 606?

Is there a need for compression hardware/software with the 606 to get ur beats sounding better? I know the 606 has mastering settings along with the compression effect so I'm not sure

If there is a need or if anybody uses compressors can anybody give me a little insight into what they use/do? Thanks

All a compressor does is tame the relationship between peaks & valleys on your audio signal. The 606 has a compressor effect & the mastering thing can compress it further- you can easily overdo it in fact.
