Hey. Hopefully you guys can help me out.
I have a 555 and love some using the FX on my vocals.
My problem is that I was thinking about putting myself on the stage soon but in order preform I'll need at least two samplers to fade in and out songs one after another. I'll also need a mixer to do that.
What kind of mixer do I need to have independent channels for my two samplers while at the same time having an independent channel for my microphone while using each samplers FX? Also, what routing needs to be done.
If anyone can help me out it would be great. Thank you.
Question about live use with 2 samplers and mixer.

to me that sounds like job for dj mixer.....I have seen videos of people like ras g rocking with a dj mixer and 2 303s....

Its gunna be a bitch...
basically impossible.
I guess you could do it like this;
use a 2ch dj mixer
have the mic plugged into one of the samplers.
while you're fading between you'll have no mic...
now say you're fading from the sampler with the mic plugged in, to the other one...
once you have completely faded to the other sampler, stop all the patterns on the sampler with the mic, then fade it back in so you can use the mic but there is no other sound coming from it..
then of course u have to fade it out, then start the patterns and fade in again...
Really not an ideal situation!
other options -
-find a dj mixer with 2 ch + mic channel that has built in effects and lets you route only the mic to the built in effects.
-get a mixer with effect sends, and then get a separate effect box for one of the sends.
best option will depend on what exactly you're doing with your voice, in terms of sounds, when, what effects, etc.
Samples.
I think I know where you are trying to get at. I have done something like this while djing a party. What you need is a fx send/return on both channels of the mixer. I have a denon x300 2 channel. Pretty old but it works. A mic iput in the mixer. Route the mic to the corresponding channel, and turn the fx send up. Then fade to channel 2 and do the same thing as step one. Both samplers should be plugged in to the send/return inputs on your mixer, not the channel ins. If that doesnt work, just get 2 mics. one for each sampler. keep them plugged in to each and switch out when you fade. Good luck. Hope that helps.

Numark makes a bad ass mixer for around 250 with onboard effects(tap tempo, too!!!) Stuff like filter, vocoder, reverb, lo-fi, tape delay, echo, etc...
Run your vocals through that and rock the samplers on channels 1 and 2.
Duhhhhhh....
