sup everyone. hey ive been messing around trying to to filter bass. like drown out other instuments only to hear a muffled bass. any ways when i try it it usually gets all distorted. i noticed alot of yall have nice sounding basses. any tips for me?
You mean isolating the bass with the isolator? Yes, I understand it sounds crappy. And filtering is not designed to do this. For best results you have to find a passage where the bass plays alone and sample it there.
Either find a clean bass sample played alone, or you have to go with the low end theory and isolate the bass resample, filter resample, eq resample after awhile only the bass will really stand out and you can mix over that.
I usually start out with the low-pass on the super filter...
you don't have to find a spot with only bass, just a place where there is some space between the low freq you want and anything else going on at the same time, otherwise it will come out muddy.
nice tip man. i swear someone should be recording all these tips. priceless info you find NOWHERE else. oh wait, someone is. thanks keesj! this site should be called infinitespwisdomdontsleep.com
