Keeping effects on for multiple samples...

At 1:29 in this video, the guys hits FILTER and it stays on for all the samples he plays afterwards.

How is this done? When I try to do it, the effects stays on that sample only. Am I missing something obvious?

Hold down the remain button and select the pads that you want to apply effects to then select the effect.

Shit, this guy needs to work on his timing.
I bet he uses quantizing all the time
