Using all space on CF card

Hi everybody! I´m not absolute sure how to use all space on my CFcards, and really would appreciate some good advice. So, when CF cards are full (all banks + patterns) and [REMAIN] shows that there are let´s say 300 (min.) left, can i use this 300 minutes
by BACKUP SAVE> DELETE all BANKS+PATTERNS> USE FREE SPACE> until ful- then BACKUP SAVE 2> so to create 2 SETS of banks and patterns and LOAD the desired one>?
