Ive been seeing alot of people say that the 404 sounds harsh, and sounds like a bad mp3.I was wondering what others think of people saying the 404 sound bad or too digital.

in my opinion the 404 gives the sound a lot of warmth. A lot of members put out beat tapes, and do the battles with the 404. Listen to them, and tell me those sounds ain't tight. if you use certain fx, i do think the sound gets to digital or to harsh, but if you doin the right thing, it makes music beautiful.

I think it sounds good, it also samples in 24bit which gives more room to place sounds than a 303 which most people believe is "warmer" sounding. C'mon man all your 404 beats are crazy fresh, most people with 404's would love to have their beats sound like that.

I love my 404 though. thinkin about coppin a 303 just because. deciding on if it's worth it.

no way man, one of the best things about the 404 is the good sound quality. in normal sampling mode it plays back exactly what you put in.

i posted a sound test on here once with me resampling a sound around 130 times and there was no noticable sound degredation. if i did that on my zoom sampletrak the sound would be unusable after resampling about 3 times

I like the sound I am trying to get around to learning Izotope RX to remove the hum but other than that, the sound is the shit, after getting wind of resampling I am trying to use the MFX more and more

Thanks Juxt for this info and for doing the test!! I always wondered what happens to the sound quality when resampling too often! Good to know that I don´t need to have a guilty conscience anymore when resampling! 130 Times is way more that I need! :) Peace!

This quality is only remained if you don't resample in lo-fi 'cause then you hear sound deterioration very quickly.
