Whats up everyone, first off I'm new to the thread so I though I'd say HI. But now to my problem. I just got my 404 the other day and I've went looking for CF Cards today I went to Ink Stop, Best Buy, Radio Shack, and Target looking for 1 GB cards and they only had 2 GB and 4 GB. So I finally went with the 2GB Dane Elec card and when I got home I noticed that I still can't go to banks C/G D/H and so on. I read the manual and tried formatting the car to the machine like it said but still didnt have any luck. So can anyone tell me if I'm doing it wrong or If I need to get another card and if so what kind is good? I apologize for the long post but I wanted to make sure it made sense, oh and this is the card.THANKS for the time people

I don't know if your card is non-compatible or not but you should check this.

303/404/555 you can't go wrong with sandisk cards.

The maximum size of cf card that gets recognized by the 404 is 1GB that explains why your 2GB card does not work.

Aright I read some more on the threads and noticed people saying that the Sandisk 2GB ultra II works with the 404 so I got one , I also took the liberty of making a video so everyone could see what I am doing.

I read that as well but the specs of the 404 are pretty clear maximum size cf card recognized by the machine is 1Gb not 2 theres is not much to do with a cf card your 404 recognizes it and asks you to format it or it doesn't.

The 2gig cards work fine in the sp-555 though.
