I got 2 ipods and one 404, so I want to record on to 1 ipod (both video 5th generation) and I put my samples through another, I got the sampling I-Pod down, to record into the 404 I got NYKO stereo link Dock connector to RCA

http://www.amazon.com/NYKO-88020-iPod-S ... B000EIQHWI

there is a really nice tight fit and sounds better than Audio Y Cable Splitter's for RCA to 3.5 mm. if you are gonna get y splitter's than make sure the y cable splitter isn't detachable i had to get a new one because my detachable kept on messing up and causing static.

anyway does anyone record into their IPOD without static i got the italk by griffin and all i get is static, with cuts in the audio. I saw a dock connector to rca with audio input but amazon reviews says that it doesn't work there should be something that works well, I seen mixers that record into the ipod,
I also read this about modifying the dock connector but I don't think I have the patients and dont have the tools

ooh and here is some cool reading material

Madlib, his gear, I know this is why I bought my 404

I could be mistaken but from what I see the iTalk is only meant to be used with microphones, could it be that your line outs distort the input level of the italk and thus create the static you mentioned?
