SP-404 - Recording with Audacity Question

Post by Les Braun »

Ok, so my SP-404 arrived in the mail just yesterday. I had fun learning some stuff by doing, and I had already have made some loops. I want to record a beat that I just made with Audacity, but somehow it's not working. I have that iPod RCA cable, and I put the RCA thingies in the LINE OUT of the SP, and the headphone jack(iPod) in the headphone place. But I tried everything possible, but I can't record anything from the SP directly.

Can someone help me out here, please?

put the headphone jack into the line in on your computer. if that dont work check the audio settings on your control panel

its probably gotta have a line in or a mic in, every computer ive ever seen has one or the other. you cant record into an output which is what your headphone jack is, its sending audio OUT, you need something to send audio IN.

Maybe the headphone jack on the side plays double duty as a audio in too.
If not just buy a cheap usb audio interface online.
