Since it's xmas soon :-); my wishlist of features that could easily be added in a new os update but which we'll prolly never see unless som Roland JJ pops up:

I no particalr order.

1. A real copy function for samples and patterns alike
2. Resampling of a sequence (it could be that dsp power of the 404 is too low for this)
3. Panning on mono samples
4. 24 backups instead of 12
5. a proper pitchshift (12 semitones up and down)
6. being able to store bpm per pattern.
7. other time signatures than 4/4 while we're at it :-)

Well actually I was only thinking about os upgrades, so I guess that extra pads and waveform display are a bit difficult . Waveform display is something I don't miss at all, I'm oldschool like that :-)

will it ever really happen? an OS update with all this? has anyone tried emailing Roland about this or something, they could probably make 10 bucks off this each person or something

For me all it really needs is pattern copy and sample tuning/pitch
All the other stuff wouldnt hurt tho :) but to add to that id say add a hi pass filter effect also. Velocity sensitive pads would be nice. Like on the 606. Waveform displays are no fun ! Im glad akai dropped the mpc500...wich I used the other day and I hate it btw... workflow is terrible. But anyway... im glad they did because its out only hope of roland actually adding any kind of new significant features!

@ Frantic while waiting for the pattern/sample copy, you can still you the 'flying lotus' method. (Woah almost sounds like kungfu doesn't it ) Cause I wouldn't keep my hopes too high regarding an os upgrade from Roland.
