I already have... you mean the KMD and Lootpack stuff?

Ah, shit.
I love KMD. They were the best. Don't think that Subroc made many lo-fi beats, though lol
btw, does anyone know where Onyx the Birthstone Kid is? I've heard he switched his name to Rodan and was in M.I.C., but that guy has a way different voice, flow, language, etc.

On topic, Breaking Atoms by Main Source is a bit lo-fi.

What is considered lofi in the first place? Beatsmiths eschewing profools? De bedroom studio work ethics?

Anything that you can hear the crackle of dusty wax in :)

Second that notion. Especially when he's makin beats on a computer using Fruity Loops... not that he's still on that tip, but his sound seems to be pretty much the same.

I would say it's more of a low bit/sample rate thing. Altho some rugged vinyl pops and tape hiss definitely contribute to the lo-fi element... as well as the level of hardware/software being used in the process.

Good question tho pt3r. I bet there are some varied opinions on the matter. 8)

i just posted about this in the other roland gear section, but the first self titled eliot lipp album on eastern developments.

the whole thing was made using a roland ms-01 sampler and an old analog synth.

+1

Juxt is Lo-Fi
J Daniels and Dr Sp-303 are Lo-Fi (I wonder what happened to them)
I think you can find a lot of real lo-fi gems in the music section
...

For some strange reason (brain defect ?) Lo-Fi seems to trigger my fancy much quicker than the avarage profools garbage they pass on the radio

Edit: I just noticed a sec ago that Euclid is Dr SP-303     all these name changes confuse old me  Still wonder what happened to Jay it's been a while since he dropped by.
