Okay, I posted the rules in the Arena. Just let me know if you guys want them updated or modified. I can't wait to hear the MV stuff.

Don't expect something major from me, I got it like 3 weeks ago... I have almost mastered it but still I am more concentrating on learning more than making something decent to nod your head to :)

I understand, there is probably a million things to learn on the MV but I don't think I've ever heard a bad beat from you. I'm so bad at learning new samplers that have a lot of features which is why I stick to my simple 303.[/i]

This is gonna be great. I'm totally okey with those rules by the way.

I'm almost done with my beat, but as said before I can't mixdown until sometime sunday or early monday when I get back to my crib. I will post asap.

Good to see some more cats in on this by the way, good stuff!! Peace. 8)

I think this is freaking awesome, I'm almost ready too.. It's amazing how I discovered somethings I either over looked or never have known.. I really got a chance messing with the filters... by the way did anyone else had a hard time extracting that snare from the sample at the very end? it took me an hour to do it, and I got it with a reverb tail (sweet  ) I'm curious if others are willing to share they method on extracting sounds, I really haven't done it too well.. I had to take the brass/cymbal hit reverb tail (only) and filter, pitch to get a hi hat since I couldn't extract a clean one.. I'm still new at this and I know you guys are some Sp pros that are now MV pimps, maybe after the songs are submitted.. spit a little knowledge to me on how to do some extracting sounds shish..

I hope you guys got another battle comin.. cuz I'm in

I'm still getting to know my baby, had her for about 2 and half weeks now, but im way down to get on the next one. I used to use a combination of records, reason, axiom midi controller, recycle, and audacity to make my tunes. Luckily i got a chance to get to know a couple of my friends sp's (555,303) and got hooked. So long story short this is quite an adaption process. So im taking my time to read the manual and doing some basic experimentation before i start getting funky. Also wanted to give thanks to you cats for sharing knowledge with such a great attitude.

P.S if you get a chance peep some tunes..

One love, Brooks

Don't worry, it's alright with me if there's a slight delay in when everybody post their beats. I won't be physically able to post before Monday because I am not near my machine at the moment, so lets just say voting won't start before this Tuesday or so. We need to have at least a good bunch of people entering and it's all for fun and practice anyways. 8)

Alright, basically what you can do with the MV is this:

1. Make a new midi track
2. Make sure it's assigned to MFX, not an instrument patch
3. select a Bass Synth patch for the MFX and make sure it's set to 'input'
4. Record the internal synth on that midi track you created just like you normally would record an instrument playing the pads.

That's all there is to it. Basically you're just using the included FX.

According to the current rules you can sample anything made with the internal synth this way as well. Basically just use it any way you'd like.

If you've got some more questions or need a more detailed step by step, just let me know. Peace.
