can't do it all in the machine....but you can record something out, play it on somethin externally at the same time that you play your drums......gotta figure out a way to work around though cause you can't do it in the box

I think what you mean is this:
1. enter pattern mode
2. press rec and select a pad where you want to record the pattern
3. press rec again to start and put the sample on the first beat of each bar (the bpm of the sample must match the bpm of the pattern)
4. play the drum sounds to record them

oh damn, i don't know why i wouldn't think of that, press start/end/level once recording and use knob 3 to turn down the volume of the metronome, you can record stuff in, it'll stay loopin, then you can add and delete stuff at will, or go into rehearsal mode (press rec to go in and out) and just smash pads to your content

thanks guys,

yeah what i meant was to record without a metronone, so turning it down it would work. i'll give it a try tonight.

anyway the clip i saw on you tube is this one:

beats on top

as you can see in the clip this guy records drums while a pad is playing, and i think the metronome is the key.

thanks to all again.

ok. i finally made it.

i can record while a pattern is playing only turning off the metronome.

but i have another question, i set a lenght loop to 2 or 4 no matter how long it is, but after 2 beats i have 2 empty beats and then again the sample back to play, why the pattern doesn't loop? or it loops but with 2 empty measures in between... i don't know.. any help please?

thanx

classic problem, 99% probably have loop turned on for the pad, so every time the pattern resets it "presses" the button, which turns the pad off, then around again turns it back on, you don't need loop on when you have a pattern runnin
