All my new material is composed on my 404 that I acquired for Christmas; all the stuff in the jukebox came from the aforementioned batch of songs.

I'm still getting used to the thing, but I love it, and I guess I'm learning everyday... So, enjoy!

its pretty decent stuff but at times i feel like i am listening to either panda bear or the new animal collective

having influences is cool but you wanna try to avoid mirroring a bands sound

you've deffinitely got skillz though

No, I know what you're saying, and it has been a worry of mine since having begun using the sampler; my previous work, which is still up for download on the myspace (not to sound like a pitch), sounds signficantly different from the current batch of material.

It bothered me at first, but I've kind of realized, at the time, it's a natural sort of progression; learning to use new gear through observation of others. In fact, when I listen to it, while I enjoy it and love making it, I hear all sorts of SP-utilizing influences ranging from Animal Collective to Odd Nosdam to Madlib.

I guess what I'm getting at is, learn to speak English before you start inventing your own slang.

I don't know. I'm sorry if this came off as defensive, man. I'm not trying to be. Fuck, what a rant... What I mean is, thanks for the feedback, dude.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. Glad to hear everyone is digging on it...

I'm playing a gig in the dance hall here at school where they have some of the more notable names play when they come through on college tours and what not. Like, Dan Deacon played there back in 2007, so I'm super psyched about it. Anyway, I'm thinking about making a live recording of it, but I don't know yet. Well, anyway, wish me luck.

Shit, I didn't even think about that. I was going to just run my vocals through the delay function on my 404 just because it's a little easier to control in a live setting, but now that you say that, I may have to go with the reverb.

Thanks guys. I've just got to record vocals for three songs and I'll have a full length "album" done. I'll link you guys to a megaupload or something when it's done. :)

I really like your music, but I would agree it's strongly in the vein of Animal Collective which isn't bad since a lot cats around here including myself do the Dilla Madlib thing with Hip Hop. I believe it was Picasso that said "good artists copy, great artists steal".

Yeah, I hear you. It's definitely natural that some of your earliest work is going to resemble your influences. But, I think any meaningful, evolving art is going to eventually take on its own shape in good time.

But, mutually, sure, I hear a strong Madlib influence in your music. But it is still great stuff. It takes a great artist to spawn art similar to that of a great artist.

And Bear Grylls is the manliest person alive.
