sounds cool, I'll give it a try. Only thing I hate about these battles is that their always mp3, so I have to convert it to wav for my ole 505, and their fucking long, and when you hear good bits in the beginning and near the end, it's a fucking pain to get it!

ive always just sampled the track the old way. No need to convert anything if you dont use a card reader.

Oh yeah true that, but I'm a lazy motherfucker and can't be bothered to change the wires round.

Am I allowed to put the sample in Logic and just take the sections I want? That's nothing I can't do on the SP but it's just a lot faster...

as far as I known you can't do it, you have to chop only using the sp.

The rules:
1. All SPs only SPs. all chops, all sequencing. External mastering (E.Q., compression) is ok but don't rearrange anything. The exception to this is if any of the SPs have a useable time stretch feature that is disallowed to be fair to the ones that don't have it.

2. Winner of previous battle either picks / posts sample/s or designates someone else to. They may either post one sample / song as source material or a sample plus a breakbeat.

3. Only use elements posted for the battle. No extra drums from your library, etc. Anything left in your machine after you initialize the memory is fine.

4. Contest runs for one week. Voting runs for three days. Vote for somebody else, and explain your logic.

Yeah, getting the drums is difficult indeed.

Not chop, say I only want 16 bars, 8 near the beginning, 8 near the end, can I not just take em out in Logic?

do u have an X-Y adapter? The 1 that goes from a headphone out to an RCA in? No Logic, unless it's for capturing the output of your finished track.

drums are always hard to grab when you're not given a breakbeat
but this song is relatively easy, with a few open(ish) hits
some of those early Arena battles...man, i'd spend HOURS polishing turds and getting nowhere, only to give up
