Mono/Stereo

Mono vs Stereo for me is a matter of what machine I'm using. 505 means everything gets sampled in mono and then stereo is added to select chops thru use of effects. 555 means that I will do bass & drums in mono... while handling melodic samples on a case-by-case basis. Usually keeping them stereo unless I run into poly issues.

it reminds me the fire in Greece last year...20 different places in fire at the same time...they where waiting for the weather report and when it was about to have strong winds the next day they where prepared...now instead of new trees there are big houses ,hotels and other staff...

Now, for sampling i always use stereo for ripping parts from a song.also stereo for a drum set,or if it's just a kick or snare i use mono...and in everything else ,cause i run out of voices(in sp606) ,i sample in mono but i always use the pan feature and it sound nice especially adding some reverb...!

i live in Melbourne, so me and my immediate family were never at risk...the fires were in the bush that surrounds Melbourne and its suburbs...close, but thankfully not too close
my cousin's house was at risk, but the fire stopped about a kilometre away. if the wind kept up, it'd be gone now.

there's been ash everywhere, filthing up the clothes i hang out to dry and also poisoning water catchments

i think the swiftness and brutalness of the fires is the scariest part. it all basically happened in one day - bang
