Pretty sure the samples are stored in spd format. You have to explicitly export them as wav files. Manual tells how to do this.

you hit cancel + resample . then hit resample , then hit the pad(s) you wanna export and voila .

just bought a couple of sandisk CF on ebay and they work fine.
