How many cards you have?

Post by schmiddyy »

Hey....my first post on the board, but since I got my 404 a week ago (loving it) I've been studying lots of different topics on here like a manual. Thanks for all the ideas so far.

Was wondering.....how many memory cards does everyone have? Ordered a 1 GB card online, but they seem to be getting scarce, especially in stores. Wondering if it would be a good idea to pick up a few to have some in reserve......anyone ever have one go bad on them? Hate to get my card damaged or something, and get stuck with just banks A and B.

Anyway, let me know what you think.

I have a JAMedia 512, and will never be able to fill it up, but i do have a computer to off load. even still this card has like, well, i have a lot of the banks filled and it says that i have 185 min left. So you are cool, dont yorry about the 1 gig cards. With the 12 voice poly you will record a lot of stuff mono so a 512 is DOPE!! hope this helps.

I've got seven. 3 were included in my SP package when I bought my 404 on ebay, and recently Ive bought additional 4 Lexars 256 mb.

I noticed that by frequent backing up and "recovering" the backup ( the infamous FlyLo trick ), my cards slowed up. They just process everything much slower than they did before I started to do FlyLo's.

Do you've got the same?

i have 2 cards.

a sandisk 1 gig. its awesome, i use it to store all my secret files on . so i dont have to keep them on my computer. dont worry by secret files i dont mean animal porn. lol .

my other card is a boss 128 mb, it seems a bit faster , maybe cause my 1 gig is so crowded . i should pick up another 1 gig or smaller before they turn scarce like smart media.

None, but that might be because I don't have a sampler yet. But I do have a 512 MB USB stick!

3 cards that came with my SP from ebay. 2 512s and a 1GB. I'm gonna buy some more soon, but I think 6 will be enough.
