Hi guys

I've just bought a sp404 to use live with my band. I didnt realise though that'd i'd need an amp! Doh :(

I currently use this with my guitar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Hot_Rod_Deluxe

It has two inputs - could i use this with the sampler as well? Or would it sound rubbish?

I have another small guitar amp - could i use that, with the right cable? Or do i have to use a keyboard/special amp? And what cable??

I dont have a clue and there's nothing in the manual...Any help would be greatly appreciated, although please dont recommend me anything expensive!

Thanks
Julie

I imagine it'd work fine, but since you have them both anyway (or soon will) just plug it in and find out. =)

guitar amps mostly cover mid-range signals, don't they? and the 404 puts out all ranges. keyboard amps cover all ranges, as do PA systems. So while your amp probably won't blow up it'll sound kind of squashed maybe. But then again, Battles run their keyboards through guitar amps to give them a more organic sound so maybe that's good for you.

yea a guitar amp will work fine, it will be very middy . if thats a word ?

anyhow if your band has a bass player try it out on that.

I use to haul a little bass amp around with me skateboarding and find a plugin and hook up walkman up to it and blast that ish. could hear it like 2 blocks away. then my friends brother a crackhead stole it from me, aarrGH effer.

hey stunt girl. welcome.

first: the fender deluxe is a great amp.

but yr best bet would be to keep that for yr guitar alone. double inputs into one amp can be pretty muddy. okay in a pinch, but not the best way to go forever.

use your other amp, or preferably, the PA system.

you'll need a cable that goes from RCAs to a 1/4 jack (for the amp), or RCAs to RCAs or RCAs to double 1/4 jacks for the PA, most likely.

good luck. post stuff by yr band so we can hear what yr doing.
