Thanks for the heads-up Wax.

Hey fellows! Remember to explain your votes.

Thanks Count! I have problems with Zshare too.

I vote for Fauna. I like the panning horns and I think the song has a good structure with good changes.

Special mention for IIIII and JayLost for their creativity in doing tracks that are far different from the original sample.

Its Fauna for me too. I love the guitar sections and the way the horns were put together. Could quite easily imagine listening to that with the sun beaming on me.

Again got to say the IIIII and JayLost tracks were also excellent, can't believe they came out of the same sample I used.

This battle has really got me more interested in my 404 (rather than just as a drum machine/sample trigger).

Nice one guys :)

Euclid, you used very nice part of this song in your beat. Props for the good feeling.

Blind, I heard some better stuff from you man :) But the bassline still sounds nice.

Camilo, really nice work. Those horns loops sound just before the middle of your song sound really good.

Count crazy as aaalways :D Soo many different sounds there. I really like the bassline and (dunno how to call it)-low pitched, two-tonal, short horns sound. "Lasers" r also crazy :P

Jeff, everything sounds pretty "smooth" in your beat. Plus nice bassline added.

elhau, man, you should have varified your beat a little more. Thats unbelievable how lazy you are!

Fatleader, you reminded me that there is such effect as phaser in 404 :) I never use it :) You used it in a really pleasant way! Props for that. The bassline is veeeery nice man! And does the title of your track have sth to do with DOOM's lyrics? :P

Fauna, hahaha man, your track reminded me of some J.LO beat :D Plus nice panning [ damn I've never used that :P ]. Really good in overall!

IIIII, yor reverbed snares reminded me of good'old shook ones :D Nice beat.

Jay, nice and chilly beat. I liked your hand claps :) Plus those strange sounds like those from some factory :P Nice addition of vocal parts.

Juxt - simply solid track as always :) And your snares reminded me of those you used in your beat tape beat [ my favourite shit out here :D ]

R0nny - I think it's a good entrance :) Nice reversed samples.

Sarge - I liked your hard kicks plus the way you used the horns

Steve - Really good stuff man. I like the way you pitched some sounds. Plus thos scratch-like sounds are pretty amazing :)

Fatleader you've got my vote :D
Fauna, you came second, but it was tight decision :)

I voted for IIIII, I loved the sub bass tones and the claps in your beat.
Sorry about the zshare stuff but I don't have the box.net account password info since I didn't start the account.

This part let me bounce

Count_Sierackula: On this beat I like the bass and the sounds at 0.25.
they sounds like a laserbeam and a ping pong ball. very nice

CamiloM: nice beat and i like the chorus on your beat and how the drums drop in there

very hard decision!

so ... Jeff got my vote

listened to these watching the hockey.

euclid - solid piece, good sax, a little long maybe in the early middle section cuz it gets interesting near the end.

juxt - nice groove in the pocket w guitars, sometimes a bit sloppy, but a really good piece

elhau - really nice cuts, good weird groove, lo-fi drops, reso - all great. would have liked to hear more variety in the whole tho - like the bit at the very beginning and end. why are these random intros / outros rather than in the arrangement?

sarge - just smart chops, really solid, nicely timed fade

camilom - a little sloppy in and out of the grooves, but interesting stuff for sure, nice club-kick section in there

fatleader - reso intro then slow nodder. solid. nice run-thru of the fx at end.

just jeff - really like the thick melodic bass. tasteful composition w/ horns.

iiiii - that bass is so heavy. i had trouble getting sustained bass notes, but yrs are great. i really like the dub.

blindfold - gave some feedback earlier. fink this is a heavier mix, still a good piece.

stevec - like the cripness, like the bleeps and bloops - reminds me of dilla.

count - cool futuristic tim burton vibe. like it most when it gets really clicky, i fink cuz that's when its got the biggest combos of highs and lows in the mix.

r0nny - a little lumpy on the groove, but the backward horns gel w/ it nicely.like the delay shots.

jaylost - surprisingly electro sound. probably sounds least like the original, which is a great thing. like the crescendo feel. only complaint is the slight lag on the main loop. but really good version.

elhau gets my vote. nice battle guys. some really great pieces.

Wow... some seriously inspired beats. I'm gonna run em down from the top...

Euclid - lovin this beat dude. The slowed down tempo is great, so is that little holler in the beginning. great use of those vocals throughout actually.

Blindfold - nice composition... always bringing that abstract funk. Definitely one of the more far out pieces of the bunch.

CamiloM - good job of rearranging the melodic elements. interesting stutters and slightly off beat placement of your chops. the horn loop got a little repetitive for me, but all in all a nice track.

Count - would've benefitted from a serious pre and post production blunt sesh. Big thanks for all the feedback tho fam! 8)

DJ Just Jeff - like the chops... nice bassline... also like the reverb treatment. good composition. Nice beat!

Elhau - really like the way you chopped that main theme, also really feeling the fade in on it. Nice percussion... the clap/snare combo is nice. Love the way you work the effects. That platter slow-down laser beam sound at the end is dope.

Fatleader - Sounded like quas was gonna start talking about lacing his weed (I mean, toilet paper) with poison ivy leaf at anytime during this track. Nice chops... I like the warped intro. Nice work with the drums.

Fauna - hype intro! nice work with the panning... I like the question answer feel of the horns and flute. The only part that loses me a bit is the stuttering... it doesn't seem to fit with the groove you have going for the rest of the track. All in all a great beat tho.

IIIII - that deep bass is dope. Also really like where the beat drops... and the extreme crunch you put on that horn line. Nice drum work... very different. Flipped like a mofo.

Jay - you created some really dope sounds out of this sample. crunchy... and stretched across the stereo field nicely. I like the bassline a lot. the whole track is very unique and laid back... well done. The only thing I was missing was a heavy kick.

Juxt - Dope beat. Very true to the original, but well manipulated at the same time. Classic jam.

rOnny - nice track. I like what you did with the drums... that little stuttered hit is cool. the craziest thing about this beat is the way the backwards horns came out sounding like an accordion!

Sarge - Nice drum work. The short choppy drums sound a little reminiscent of another beatmaker I can think of... still cool tho. Nicely composed beat.

SteveC - Really different... nice mix of original sounds and abstract sound design. I like the use of that main horn rif... the first one that comes in. Well composed jam.

This is a really tough call. Think I grooved the most to the OG flip offered up by Juxt. Really nice beat man. I could probably name about 5 runners up tho... great round. Props all around. Sorry for writing a novel.

I'll second that and also to elhau & fauna for their feedback lists. If I get a chance I'll go back through the tunes and produce a similar list. If not I will definetly do it that way next time.
