Well I've been having a blast just mixing loops and editing vocal samples and shit but now I realize its time to add some drums to my 404. Since I dont have a cf card yet I have to upload all my kicks and snares etc from my computer to my 404 and I'm having alot of trouble getting the perfect start and end times even with using the mark button. Is there any other technique to get the perfect sound using this method?

Please excuse my noviceness :?

sorry my freind but you are saving at the wrong end....get a CompactFlash card soon.

1st of all the 1GB CF´s are dieing out because they will be soon produced with 2GB and up. At the moment they cost some 12€ and they won´t be getting cheaper.

Like I´m still strying to find a Smartmedia card with 4Megabyte for my MC-505....darn thing can be purchased in Switzerland and cost me over 100€.

yippeeeeee, NOT :?

the start/end button is more precise than the mark button.

juxt is totally right, i never use the card to upload hits, record in through the line in from your comp or whatever your using, mark as best you can, then hit start/end/level, and use the first and second knob to change the start and end points, its always worked fine for me, just keep in mind, most drum hits aren't completely singled out, hi hats and dragging reverb tails usually makes your drums sound choppy if you are just hittin them, but when sequenced with a sample playing over it with vinyl sim comp on the sample, and possibly the drums, it starts to sound way better, plus there are tips all over on getting the decay on your drums to sound better
