Help trouble with 606 and kinetic 2

Im new to all this ive been learning the sp bit by bit. I tried p606 with vista, and had too many problems getting it to work so i decided to go with kinetic2. Ive got it working and recognizing the sp. but the only thing that seems to work is note trigger. i can select a sound and play it with the pads but thats it. I cant assign effects to the knobs or use seq triggering. Ive read through kinetics manual and the sp manual pretty thoroughly and looked through this forum all to no avail. Can anybody tell me what Im doing wrong? Is there a setting change or driver issue? Thanks for your help.

See my post about ableton live, ive gave up on kinetic, and am having the same issue in ableton. I think it has to be a setting on the sp. But im not sure

I think you should check the midi settings on the sp and make sure that midi "Effect control channel" is NOT set to "off"...
