guys
some other little questions before the sp-606 arriving to my hands...

-do you know if we could apply 1 (or more) fx to one single track of the four sp-606 tracks at time? or could we solve this trouble applying the fx to multiple pads (in this case is it possible to say multiple pads=16 pads?)?

-could we apply fx to the audio-in (not the usb) making the sp-606 (like the sp-303) an fx-box-like?

Hmmm, you can not apply FX to one track only, but you can make pads insensitive to the FX if I'm not mistaken. I don't think you will often use pads with both FX on ánd FX off on two separate tracks at the same time (not possible) or as you suggested as doubled pads (possible) either, so you will probably discover that using the pad FX settings is all you'll be needing.

In my opinion, the MFX works fine when applying them to all tracks most of the time, but you'll get the best quality beats by setting the FX to specific pads. :)

As said though the MFX applies FX to pads, not tracks. You can use up to 2 FX at a time, but you can work around this limitation by resampling pads with FX applied to them.

I'm pretty sure the answer is a sounding yes as the MFX works the same for both audio through USB and audio through the line inputs, you'll only need to select the input if I'm not mistaken.

It's been a while since I've last touched a 606, but I'm pretty confident my answers are correct. :)

you can apply it to tracks just whatever pads are are playing on that track, assign the efx to it. you can turn the effects on and off for each pad. Like stated above the resample feature is also a workaround.

Yeah, soundexp334 is right. What I meant to say was that in most cases I didn't really bother to switch FX off for certain pads because it sounded a lot fuller when all the pads I'm using have the FX applied.

Of course, I'm talking about FX like the Slicer FX or FX that use bpm or a rhythm, not quite the more spacey FX that distort the sound a lot. :)

You'll figure out what i'm talking about the moment you dive into the 606 and use the MFX. It's not that difficult. ;)

Hello, Im new to this forum. Im trying to learn how to use my sp606 just now. I think im getting the hang of it. My only problem is the track mute function. When i turn the unit on, I'm able to mute the 1st track. but after tinkering with the unit (sampling, making patterns etc etc) i cant mute the 1st track any more. I can only do so by using the edit function and by checking track 1. But when on live performance, who uses the edit function to do fast mutes or breaks anyway , right? Anybody experience this? or anyone here knows how to fix it?

oh and to add, is there a way to use a 1gig CF card? i just bought new one for this, only to find out it can only use 512mb max.

THanks guys!

... i think that 512mb is the maximum for the sp-606, it can't pass over. me i have one sp-303 and with a 8mb smartmedia card (3.30 mins) you do miracles...
...but if you try to say that 512mb it's not enough for a live then it's another stuff...
