Hello everyone,
I have a question for all of you..
I'm looking at buying the SP606 brand new for $600.00(USD). I checked on Ebay and I saw the MC-808 for the same price maybe about $50 cheaper depending on who is selling it..
So my question is..
In your opinion which do you think is better and why?

I think it really depends on what you need. The SP-606 is a great sampler with lots of sample time and effects, but really needs to be paired with a keyboard to create music. I have the SP-606 and it is what I use for my drums. One limitation of the SP-606 is its 8 voice polyphony. Compared to MPCs, it may seem small, but there are ways to work around it.
The MC-808 (and all grooveboxes) is a stand alone unit that can accomplish a lot. I've not used the MC-808, but have seen some complaints stating that it is not as user friendly as the MC-909. Sampling on both the MC-808 and 909 seem like an afterthought though.
If you just need sampling: SP-606
If you need limited sampling & synths: MC-808 or 909

Well Twitch it's issue you need to think about 
cus I"ve got both the mc-808 and the 606 . I use the 606 for adding fx to my samples . The mc-808 can do multi-samples .But as you know that the mc-808 has some issue's right now and Roland isn't gonna fix them at all 
( which started back in the 909 series of the mc's. Now saying that I wouldn't buy the mc at all ( If I could get my money back for the unit I would and give up on Roland as for as grooveboxe's. Here's a site(http://forums.rolandclan.info/index.php go the the groove section of the forum and it's the one at the top ) that listed the mc problem's and Roland telling us they won't fix them at all ... untill another mc come's out. Thats like me telling them why don't a sampler have manual chop duhh it should have that right but it don't . Well i've said to much as it is .. Remember the groove that moves U !!! not the hardware
