I´ve already searched : search.php but found nothing considering this event.

The story: I´ve hooked up a MC-505 with the SP-404 and it all works great actually untill I want to stop the beats on the 404 while still playing on the 505. When I start the 404 again while the 505 is still playing, the beats are way off the hook.

Is there any chance in keeping them syncrone or should I make a pad of the 404 in 4/4 silence to keep it syncronized?

I'm no good with midi, but I thought it kept everything sync'd otherwise what's the point, but it seems like you work around will do the trick just fine. Someone else probably knows way more about midi.

you have to change the 404 bpm everytime you stop I think, back to what it was originally

Why not just turn the volume down on the 404 when you don't want it?

thx all 4 ur reply :!:

Both are playing sync untill I stop/start the beats on the 404 because the sequencer is the MC-505.

If i turn the volume on the 404 down then all goes quiet cause I use the line in / line out on the 404.

Line in = from 505
Line out = to amp which means my 404 is the master volume to the amp

dude, setup a dummy pattern (ie empy) make it 1 bar long then switch to that when you want silence from the 404

info here about how to set-up a dummy pattern: viewtopic.php?t=1680

that way the 404's sequencer stays plugging along in time, and with the pattern being 1 bar, you can drop it in on the one any time you want

Cool, let us know the myspace address by the time you've got something uploaded there.

I've got a MC505 as well and am about to sample the heck out of some freshly created patterns, I just need to fix the lcd screen (can finally do that tomorrow 8) ). This is gonna be fun. :)

this thread was awesome,,, this problem was so new to me as i just got midi that the thought of it being a question to figure out had only begun to enter my mind.... 1 bar dummy pattern seems like the answer
