Hi guys!

first:

I'm new here so...HI to everybody!

second:

Sorry for my english...I'm German! :-)

I have a problem and i hope that somebody could help me...

I bought a Roland Sp-404 & a Behringer FCB1010 Foot Controller
and i want to use this hardware to play samples during a live shows
(between the songs....easy)

Now I can play sucessfully a sample by pressing a foot-control-switch on the Behringer... BUT...

When I play the same sample once by pressing the button on
the BEHRINGER and once by pressing the sample pad-button on
the SP-404 there is always a difference of the VOLUME!

The "Behringer Sample" volume is always lower as the "Sp-404" ...

BUT...i don't use one of the expression pedals!!!

What I'm doing wrong???

I hope somebody could help me.

Thank you very much!

First off, Welcome to the site.
The only thing I can think of is that the foot pedal is activating the 404' velocity feature that only works with external controllers. Have you tried tapping the pedal a little harder to see if the sample playback gets louder?
I'm not very good with midi controllers myself, but it's all I could think of.
Your english is very good by the way.

If your pedal is not velocity sensitive then you can also check whether you pedal does not send some kind of midi volume message. If it does then you crank up the message's value to 127.

that's what I think, too. try to set the volume of your samples to '100' and check if there is still any difference...

Viel Glück!

I've a feeling the FCB1010 has a preset midi note velocity value - it won't make any difference how hard you tap its pedals. See if you can edit it to 127. The Sp404 pads are fixed velocity - probably 127. The sample pads volume will set the maximum loudness a midi velocity of 127 produces.

Sorry, if you look at the midi implementation chart in the FCB1010 manual, you'll see midi note has a fixed velocity of 64 - so it will always be quieter than the SP404's own pads.
Bummer!
