A lots of problems!!!

Post by djinx »

Hi guys! I'm from Italy and finally I've buy a SP404 but.....I GOT A LOTS OF PROBLEMS!!!....shit.... :x
First of all, problem importing file in the CF. Sometimes done, sometimes SP says "FULL", sometimes "UNS"....all files are renamed C_01.wav ecc..and are 16 bit 44.1 rate.
2) When I finally can import files in sp 404, I'v tried play samples pad. The first time the sound, but if I try again, display show that samples exist, but I can't hear any sound! or sound is distrorted or cut!!...I'm going crazy with this sp404, & I'm not happy to spent 300 euro for a malfunctional toy. Can you help guys?
Cheers :D

P.S. I'hope my english is clear enought to understand me....

SP-404 itself denifitely isnt a "malfunctional toy".
Most of the problems with sps are connected with those compact flash cards.

My advice is: Buy another ( maybe a little bit more expensive but quality [brand-name] card like e.g. Sandisk. )
Try it with your sp.
You should also check whether you have the most up-to date firmware istalled.
But still, I guess this issue is caused by your CF card.

Here you can read other topics related to your problem:

I think you should rather look for those of type I, cuz in the roland homepage's faq section it's written:

NOTE: All the above CF cards are of TYPE I, and no TYPE II CF card is compatible with the SP-404.

Better spend more time on searching, than more money on a not compatible card :)

You can look also for other brands like kingston, lexar, canon etc.

I had that UNS too, that was because I tried to import stereo and not mono

so...I've to load samples 8/16 bit 44.100 e mono right?

Ok guys....situation is this one:
1) I've found a CF Nikon 16 mb. It's works well finally!!!! At the moment it's very hard to find a CF less than 2 GB
2) I've also a CF LEXAR 128 mb but the SP don't recognize it. When I insert the CF in the SP and try to format, SP doesn't work and looks like CF is not insert....

any suggestion?

...I'm going postall!!....

Have you tried the Internet? Lots of things for sale there... If you don't have a credit card go buy a pre-paid one. Like for instance: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-SDCFH-102 ... B0000CD0B7

Just sayin'...
