lo fi that hi hat more and turn it down a tad. dont know much about the 505 but try comp on the kick and the hat itll make the hat come in and out almost like you were using velocity pads...gives more depth to the drums some times. the bass seemed a bit low. the sample is cool. but i think it really sounds good when you have both samples together. alone it sounds really plain...maybe the sample is too clean to me...but honestly im picking it apart cause you asked too. its a nice track. but no one can tell you how to make beats better. just keep doin what you are doin and youll only get better and learn more things you can do. cheers man.

hey mans - i like what yr doing. i use a 505 (for the most part) too.

you asked for input, and i agree w/ the above.

remember that on the 505 its super easy to copy patterns. so to add variety, i recommend copying the sequence a couple of times, and in version two and three changing up where the snares land, the 'bounce' in the kicks, timing of the hits. even changing the kick sound or snare / hat sounds in the copies can add variety. also, w/ the 4-track sequencer, its real easy to drop stuff out, bring it in after a half-bar break, etc.

and don't forget about the swing function for getting more head nod in there.

but yeah, as others said, i like what yr doing. keep going mans.
