hows it going everyone...newbie man here.

if your samples are drifting apart...then it just has to be that they were not perfect loops in the first place

handy tip: if you are trying to render a loop that goes silence toward the end...in other words....you can't figure out the exact end point....
just put a beat coming in straight after it...and then chop the verrrry beginning of the beat

this trick has helped me out endlessly
good luck

Resampling

Post by Navek »

Alright... making lots of progress with the 555. Been messing around with a mini Kaoss pas, feeding stuff back into itself on the 555... endless fun.

So when it comes to resampling - having some probably unnecessary annoyances. Scenario:

I have a loop I like. I want to apply some effects and resample it. The way I've been doing it involves having to "time" the sample again - its annoying. is there a way to just apply an effect and resample the loop without having to re-record and deal with editing to recreate the same length the original loop was? In other words - can I just apply an effect and just resample the loop exactly as is, almost like copying but with an applied effect?

i have that same prob on the 404 - its not insane but its annoying, usually i resample with the effect (pad off gate and loop) then hit reverse and trim till you just hear the tail of the sample, unlit reverse for few point tuning if needed and it should be ok... but if anyone knows a quicker way that would be awesome btw i learned that way from this msg board

can you set the bpm for a resample?!

Wow hey good idea, I've gotta try this. I just got a 404 and I've been having the same prob as Navek. Maybe once I get more used to this machine I'll be able to figure out what FX I need, apply them, and (only) THEN trim the sample.

I tried setting the bpm to "resample" using the loop capture on the 555, works sort of - still needed fine tuning. I guess that's as good as it gets.
