well every vote does count, but i am not informed about politics, i dont follow it at all so im not gonna vote on something i have no idea about. if i followed it and i really felt our current leader is fucking shit up id definatly feel the need to look into who i should vote to try and change things. but i also live in canada and nothing is too bad right now.

i'm not gonna lie at all, i'm a lazy piece of shit, sometimes its great, it definitely has its faults, and i'm trying to change my ways in the areas that it will make a difference, but i did vote obama back in november, and i am proud as fuck that he won, i've been out all weekend and came home to the news tonight just blowin up with obama stuff everywhere, that shit is moving man, i really feel good about him and the decisions he is gonna make, and i can't help but feel angry about all the people i know that are wierd and skeptical about obama, even about just being happy about a black man being president, i come from a place where there were maybe 6 black people in my high school, and (if i remember correctly) 3 of them were autistic, and as i've gotten into hip hop over the years i've always caught heat for being to "urban" or whatever, and i know how they act, its not even that they are racist, but they just aren't used to it, its like open up your fuckin mind, he's gonna help

well, this thread took an unexpected turn....

i've been pretty politically engaged my whole life. university on, i heard a lot of arguments for dif systems and reasons not to vote, for spoiling yr ballot, etc.

for the most part, i understand where people are coming from, think i grasp the ideas they're presenting, respect it, etc, but for my part, i've voted every single time i've had the chance (fed, provincial, municipal in a bunch of dif cities).

i do it cuz i enjoy learning how dif peeps stand on issues that matter to me, battling these fucks when they call or walk thru my hood. i do it (as someone mentioned above) so i can feel free to bitch about these bastards and what they're doing to an otherwise fine country, but mostly i do it cuz i just like being politically engaged.

i vote medium-far-left (by CDN standards) so dudes never get in, but i can usually feel pretty good about who i give my vote to, in the end.
