As far as Obama goes, most of the white people over 40 hope he's assassinated. The rest of us are really hopeful and a small contingent can't quit thinking about meth long enough to form an opinion.

a guy at work was telling me he watched a show about the meth problem in the south. not sure exactly where but he was saying that some ridiculous percentage of babies are born meth heads and all fucked up cause so many people smoke meth and shit. like a super high percentage, more common than not.

I agree. It makes people subhuman, steals their health, pride, common sense, and sense of loyalty to their loved ones.

i applaud you
in Australia, voting is compulsory (or, to be specific, showing up at a polling booth on election day is...you can just get your name ticked off and hand in a blank ballot).

being forced to take part in the charade that provides the illusion of choice is just another reminder of how powerless we are

so what happens if you don't?

as far as meth, i've seen my share of methheads. i would have to say it is the ugliest habit by far. people who are completely hooked are outta a fuckin' zombie movie.

You probably do care, but it's not like one person is going to make a difference when foul play is rule.

i donno how much i believe in the whole vote swing thing...

sketchy stuff happened both times bush was elected and i feel like a lot of weird things happened in the runnings for the second term...

but i donno about them faking every election to get the right person in..

also one persons vote not mattering.. i know my vote matters.. every persons vote matters because my single vote wont make much of a difference but look how many people on the forums alone havent voted much..

it would take me studying day and night and learning everything about whats going on with each runner to truly feel like i made the right choice... my girlfriend says you juat have to pick the lesser of two evils and go with the one who does SOMETHING you like.. i feel like an idiot being as old as i am and not being involved but the rebel in me cant give a shit at the same time..

on any other platform on the internet this thread would have gotten ugly as sin... this is why i come back every day...

I'm sorry, but there is nothing rebellious about not voting. I can't help but think that letting other people decide for you is pure laziness.

There's no need to "study" in order to have an informed vote. Know the candidates' policies, listen to how they interact with other people, or just listen to your gut.

If nothing else, Obama's story shows that no one needs to be born with a silver spoon in their mouth to succeed, and that one's individual choices ultimately lead to the man/woman they become. I live in a very fucked up country, but at least I still have a voice.

i vote for many different reasons. first of all i vote because in my culture we weren't always allowed to vote from day one. second being that to me if u want the right to complain about the matters going on in your city, state or country n u don't vote then please don't bother complaining. for instance if u call your local chamber of commerce to complain about something the city's doing, when they ask for your name most of the time there checking voting records to see how involved u are in city elections. u can pay all the taxes u want till u turn blue in the face but without a voting record your mouth means nothing to politicians. i don't fault anyone for not voting cause its your choice i just try to encourage those who r on the fence about it. excuse the rant homies just my pov
