Listen to some good music, be it hip hop, jazz, funk, whatever...

Also smoke a big spliff before hand, makes everything a lot more fun and makes you worry about small details less (for me anyway, I'm a perfectionist when sober, and a perfectionist when high, but then everything sounds a lot more perfect :D )

I used to date a writer and she always said if you write high edit sober and if you write sober, edit high. I think that's pretty good advice for any creative endeavor. That way you're loose enough to lay your track down, but you give it a listen without the herbal lubricant so you aren't too forgiving.

that latest advice is perfect. joining the battles has jumpstarted me into a creative mode. i was always afraid of joining a battle, and now i can't see myself not participating. for inspiration, why not try checking the history of the production techniques section of this site and reading all that you can? it's always interesting to find lil tricks and tips, could open up your whole world. that's why sp-forums.com is my favorite place on the internet.

Fuck with my turntables, nothing serious just play some records and *attempt* to mix....
Or just chill thow on a record and play nintendo....My current combination is Sun Ra's Super Sonic Jazz and Playing N64. Just chill out play for abit and sooner or later the nintendo gets turned off and the sp gets turned on. :)
