hi
i saved patterns and samples like in the manual (p.49) it is said. I put the samrtmedia into my card reader and the pc sees everithing in .SP0 files; i know that is not possible to export .wav patterns but i thought that was possible with the samples...instead i've got, for example, a SMP0000L.SP0, a SMP0001L.SP0, SMP0002L.SP0 and so on...
i got also some files that i don't understand like PD_ARC05.SP0 PI_ARC05.SP0 SD_ARC06.SP0 SI_ARC06.SP0 ...and SMP000AL.SP0 SMP000BL.SP0 SMP000CL.SP0 SMP000DL.SP0 SMP000EL.SP0 SMP000FL.SP0 ....
i have a USB 2.0 Card Reader-support all kinds of cards (compact flash, micro drive, multimedia, memory stick etc etc) for win xp.
Have you got the same problem? it depends on the card reader? have i miss some passages in saving samples/patterns?
thanx

i emailed and this is what Roland said to me
...this means that the SP000...files works only for sp-303 and that we don't have .wav files exporting from sp-303? So we can only stocking file to the pc? Tell me boys!
Any Adapter should work. However, your computer will not read the proprietary file type of the SP-303. You can back them up to your computer and you can also import wave files from the computer to the SP-303. To import, be sure to follow the naming convention that is laid out on page 52 of the owner's manual.

i've tried different combinations and finally i think that sp-303 can't export .wav or .aiff files. This is my conclusion. Sp-303 can export only his own files (SP000 -the samples-etc or PT000-the patterns-etc)it isn't able to convert those in .wav or .aiff files.
However you are able to stock all the datas in form of set. So if you want to load from the smartmedia all of your saved datas you'd better save your sets you've got in the sp-303 before proceding loading, without this all data in the sp-303 will be "automatically" deleted by the loaded sets....
i know...this little beast is cheap and dirty, but we love it...

Re: exporting wavs
the most undesireable way to export sort of.. heheh
you could re-sample into your PC then edit your sample there and then resend it to the sp-303 as wav or aif..
not the most reliable and im sure not everyones choice, but a mickey mouse solution.. lol
