... and it says in the manual that if the sound is too low when i sample, i can just adjust the volume on my cd player... but i want to sample from my record player on which i cant adjust the volume!

what do i do??

you don't have a mixer that the turntable goes through?

if not, you can use Ctrl 3 to adjust the level
