Mmm, I could swear I've used a roll once during resampling though.

...this would be wonderful 8) !!!
this is weird because i've got a Boss 660 drum machine and you can record (and switch quantize) ROLL/FLAM during patterns recording (naturally there's no Resampling on it).
maybe this was what ayakush wanted to say to us...
...recording ROLL through patterns...

anyway, in your opinion when we push ROLL button we activate this function for all the pads? i mean if i want that only a pad (the snare pad)must have "a roll" this is possible? in the sp-606 manual it tells that when you push ROLL you activate this for all the pads, no other control for this function but the Quantize...
...but maybe it's only a false problem.

Yeah, roll does work for all pads.

I don't think roll normally stops other pads playing if you're using [hold], but I'm sure someone who actually has a 606 at this moment can chime in and explain.

so, at last, the final answer to my question is that we can't record (resample) with the ROLL function, we can't use it while we record pads...
...so this one...

you can record rolls even in 64 steps in any pattern - just switch off @quantize@ during recording - and there you go with your aphex twinish glitches!

...was only a dream?... :(
...or maybe we can use it during recording patterns?

yes that's what i meant - you can use ROLL the way i described to record in patterns. I never tried to resample it though.

thanx also to you for making clear this point of the sp-606!!
:)

if we push ROLL while recording patterns we activate this function for all the 16 pads...so if we push HOLD while pushing ROLL this "isolate" the pad i will push? in simple words: how does it work to playng ROLL during patterns recording if we only want to play this function to just one pad? maybe the answer is more easy than i think: i can apply ROLL just to one pad when i recorded the others before... :D

The roll does work during recording, make sure you turn quantize off or it will quantize the pad and not roll it. It only works on the pad that you hpld down, in order to change the roll notes you have to stop recording though. I just messed around with it alittle bit after reading this post, I will mess around with it a little more.

...is this valid for resample mode only or also for recording patterns? i remeber that it was said in this thread that in recording patterns mode you're able to switch quantize in order to variate ROLL parametres function...

********
ps
little consideration: 50 posts!! ..not bad!

yes you can change the quantize in pattern mode, but the roll note change you have to go to the sample parameter menu to change it. you could manually do your own rolls with the note record but it only quantizes to 32nd note the roll goes up to 48 I think. As far as resampling goes just copy the pattern with clipboard.

...you mean the Beat and Measure parameters in the sample parameters (pag 5, the sp-606 manual)? Not only the ROLL resolution parameter (in pad utility parameters, page 31)?

unfortunately i didn't find a Quantize chapter right now...

hi
i think at last i will have an sp-606 for 270 euro (350 us dollars)!! 8)

little question: is the sp-606 is able to trigger pads when in one-shot? i mean if i choose in sample parameter>trig mode>shot for 2 pads is it possible that when i push pad 1 and after i push pad 2 while pad 1 still playng, pad 1 stops? this is a thing i have in my akai remix 16 (an obscure sampler from late '90) and i will be glad if there's something similar in my future sp-606...
thanx

yes just assign each pad to the same mute group and whatever pad is playing gets cancelled out buy the one you just pushed. Good deal by the way on the 606 $350.00 is a steal if you ask me, as long as its in good condition.
