XD and speeds

Post by fauna »

Hey 505heads. Has anyone done an A/B test to see if the 505's processing speed increases with an XD adapter, rather than a SM card?

I think it's pretty clear that the slowness of the box is mostly attributed to the SM card. I wondered if anyone's noticed a dif with the XD adapter.

i would think that it'd be slower actually, b/c its still reading and writing through the sd interface to an sd chip and then to the xd and back.

It's equally as fast I think, the xD cards are faster, but you'll lose that because the adapter will have to slow it all down to SM speeds. Otherwise, there's no workable exchange of data possible through the adapter, meaning it's unreadable.
