can this fx detune a sample(sample tuning)? i plan on picking up a 404 cause my 303 just bit the dust today

The octave effect is one of my favourites. It doesn't detune the sample, but you can create detuning by using the octave twice (with sligtly different settings)... On the 606 this can be done in realtime; on the 404 you would have to resample..

Try it on basic hoover sounds and be amazed!

On the 404 I find the best tool to detune samples is the Chromatic PS
