might of done the smart card in...!?*#

Post by plasmajam »

Hello

I've just got a 505 and need a bit of help please.

I copied some wav files onto the card via an 8 in 1 media reader, simply copied and pasted. Now when I put the card into the 505 it comes up with banks to 1 to 16, to the end of the last pitch bank I think but nowt else.

I've come back to the PC to delete the copied files and now the reader won't read the card.

Is the job fuck't?

hey mans, welcome to the forum. yr prob - i really don't know. i never dragndrop from a pc - i just record in.

on that score, what yr seeing is all the "internal" banks being filled w/ yr sounds, and none of the "card banks" (which start after the pitch and chop banks).

i would suggest that re-formating the card would allow you to use it again. sorry i don't have a clearer answer.

Thanks for the reply, I've reformatted the card and now all banks can be accessed.

However I still don't know how to put samples (wav) onto the card via the PC? I could use the headphone/speaker port from the computer and play audio and record that way but I'd like to drag and drop.

Anyone got any idea's...........?

Cheers for that wavepad info.

I've now sussed out how to drag and drop without the need for any posh software.

This is my method just in case someone looks at this thread in the future.

For Miscrosoft users only (sorry don't know owt about macs)

Find the sample you want to skank (usually from the net), then pause it at the start.

Start - Programs - Accessories - Sound Record.....press record then start the sample playing then stop recording when required.

File - Save As - "file name" - OK.

Put the card into the reader (in my case F: drive), go to where the "file name" sample is stored, right click - copy. Go to the card drive F: and right click on the icon and paste. Jobs a good un.

Then back to the SP505 for a bit of creative manipulation.
