ive had both. I will say I like the sound of the 303 better. The main difference is that the 303 let u sample at 22.05Khz and it had 20 bit converters instead of 24 bit. The SP404 is able to get a bigger sound tho thanks to the converters and I find the lofi effect perfect for the sound im going for.

I had questions about that. Do you have msn or would you explain in this thread how you use the low fi ( do you use the effect or the resampling thingy?). Do you finish your track and then apply the effects to all samples and tune the knobs?

Thanks in advance!

i think the lofi button by the resample button is useless. it allready has more than enough sample time and it doesnt really add anything to the sound- just kills some freq giving it a duller sound. the lofi in mfx kinda does the same but it adds a little more of that audio grime that i live off of.

I agree that the lofi fx adds more detail to a sound but the LoFi resample can still be useful if I want to dirt down drum sounds or vocals. There are no real recipes for cooking up a beat, find good basic ingredients and don't overdo it with the spices.

That's why I plan to drop by at your place with 3 feet of rubber hose and a Llama, that will get me an official stamp even an autograph and a blessing of the man himself, 8) No one can resist 'convincing' arguments not even the Konducta.

I got AIM. Frantic82 is the SN. But I use the lofi effect. I just tweak it till I like the sound. I sample with the lofi effect on and then usually resample with the vinyl sim comp. apply timestretch to my sample and then resample again...usually with EQ to cut out alot of the bottom and then start choppin.

Yo ! How did you get it to fit on the 404... I thought it only worked on the 303. I must know your secret !!!

Also... to keep tone with the post.. I have recently just been using lofi sampling mode. Im pretty happy with it.
