Hey everybody!

I've got some problem with my notebook.

It all started when i shut down my notebook while it was loading oerating system. When windows XP SP3 almost loaded all the drivers and stuff i pressed power button on the notebook, which gently started to shut it down - you know pretty basic operation - at the same time some window popped up -showing some kinda error, well ok - this kinda s//t happens sometimes.

The next thing - after i reloaded windows next time - there was terrible distortion in my speakers, even when i plugeed my earphones.

I did everything already - changed audio drivers, reinstalled windows 3 times, formatted the whole harddrive, reinstalled BIOS, but it didn't help at all.

I still get this terrible distorted sound.
In my soundcard REALTEK AC97 properties it shows thayt everything works fine, so i suspect it's some kinda program error not the hardware.

Could anybody please help me, coz notebook is my studio and without the decent sound i can't work at all.

my notebook is: asus a2500h, p 4, 2.3 ghz (or something like that!)

windows xp professional sp3
soundcard: REALTEK AC 97

Thanks in advance!

you know what man, i have had similar problems with an ac 97 onboard audio card, reinstalling windows did not fix it, one of the weirdest things that ever happened to me. might be time for a usb sound card.

Thanks a lot for your reply!!!

p.s. i still wanna find out what's the problem with onboard audio - the weirdest thing is that it used to work without any bugs all the time
