Your first battle...

Post by elhuana »

Daamn guys, while writing a pm to adru I've suddenly "craved for seeing" the first battle I participated in. I've just wanted to recall it....
...daaaaamn... after hearing the sample I was simply "moved"
battle 22 - "And You And I" by Yes
What a fantastic music! After a half of year it was fro me like looking at photos from my childhood :)
I wonder if you feel the same ( come on, check your first battle threads!! :D )

ps.
Count, thanks for that sample choice then!

Nostalgia here too... You know, it makes me feel bad that I have sold my 606.

Shouldn't have done that perhaps, but I'm quite sure it would otherwise just collect dust or prevent me from really getting into the MV.

You guys created a great format for these battles... the arena is too dope for words.

Glad you were feeling that Yes sample elhau...

I remember jumping into battle 16 and putting together a track without any real drums! bishojo_command put up a single track, no break, and I had no clue how to mine for drums or filter chops. It's pretty addicting getting into the battles tho... mad fun. Props to everyone for keeping it so fresh. 8)

Yo PHeMoX, you should get a 404 so you can have the portability factor... and an external effects box for your MV.

You've said it, I might just have to do that. :)

It be cool to join in on the battles again anyways!

yeah, for sure. i don't 'battle' that often.

i threw down in a few, won one of them (street cred! lol), but don't necessarily submit things i work on. i DO however regularly check out how dudes flip stuff.

what i fink is fun is to hear how dudes flip the battle beats, then hear their "own" stuff to see how much crossover there is between the two.

oh strange sp world....

*leans back and takes a smoke* Battle memories...? Oh yeah...
My first shit was No.14. Juxt had posted the sample plus a fucked up drum snippet (kick hat snare). WAS MAD FUN! Took me 3 days to built that shit but it was the biggest expierence since the first time having s*x. Word. Never finished a "track" but for a this battle I did and I FUCKING WON. 8) I was stokes as hell guys, so I decided to pick a "special" song... Maybe same attitude like elhau...It was from my native country (gdr) too Remeber that that albatros song? bish took it and had posted the judie tzukie vid. Right as the Count said... no drumz... just a youtube video... lol...

I was lurking these battles since no.5 or sth. I still remeber that moment, when Most Blunted laid down THAT ONE SICK ASS beat. Sample was time of the season. that one had me BUT I don't have it anymore!!! If someone got that sick flip from MB FUCKING REPOST IT PLEASE! I had it on tape but my radio ate that shit...

ARENA ROCKS! Def the place where I developed my style of music...

I have EVERY battle track since no14 ( )on my mp3 player... each round a playlist. Fucking love it!

What was your favourite battle?
i mean which was the battle that came out with the freshest beats???
I'm really interested what people think about that!

I really enjoy the works from #17 (morroco ish) but there is lots of good shit round after round...

thanks man. it was actually 31 battles though, i participated in battles 1-29 plus the 2 holiday battles. gotta give props to ig9 for starting this, I bet there is no forum out there that can do the battles how we do. 8)

also we gotta get a battle like they were originally done, no free drumbreak/drumhits. that was the shit. feel me?
