Show me your setup!

Post by styledog »

These threads are more or less a must on production related forums. I haven't got a picture right now (since my sampler hasn't arrived), but show me yours and make a short message about your gear :D

machine has everything I could possibly need, right in the box. My only complaint is that the pad numbers go from bottom to top.

why did you go with the 1k? and not the 2kxl/3000/4000. just asking, not saying that the mpc1000 is wrong, i have no experience with MPCs at all so

i have a 2000xl too. The reasone i brought the 1000 is cause you can mix the track inside the box, and resample sequences, and sample while sequence is playing. probably a few other reasons that i cant remember. i dont really use it that much anymore though

Buy extra pads is all I have to say about the 1k, I would recommend a 2kxl instead if you have a 404 that should done fine for a field piece and the 2kxl can be your workhorse in terms of sequencing, plus the pads are larger, softer, don't break, and you don't have to hit them nearly as hard for a good response, which is probably why so many people break the pads on the 1k.

i just replaced my ibook with the tape player. i'm still gonna have to use it to get ish online, but i moved it to a diff part of the room. i want that corner to be all about the ears. part of my ongoing battle against screens. who will stop the rectangles? i will...

505 is fantastic... if they would have implemented midi into it better I would still own it. (sequence on the 505 and sample with the 404)
