What would YOU change about the SP-404?
Moderator: TGN
put an sp-1200 into a 303 size box. It doesnt even have to have the golden sp-12 sound(though would be nice). Just shit like velocity pads, sp-12 sequencer, tuning, adsr. alongside the sp effects and memory. can you imagine how many people would buy that??
I mean why waste energy and resources on d-beams, half ass loopers when you could just implement technology that was standardized over 20 years ago??

This would be useful as hell to anyone playing live. Using a mixer to cue the sounds works somehow but it's far from handy...

damn, some shit like that is what i take for granted with the 404, i'm plannin on coppin a 303 to go with it soon so thats good to know, i think i wanna use the 404 for just drums, and run the other samples through the 303 and just have good timing to use them both at the same time, for now though i'm tryin to organize it so i have mostly all drum stuff on the card banks with no samples, and just use the 2 internal banks to cut somethin up and make a beat, then wipe it clean and start again for another beat, drums are really the crucial thing for me, and saving all these other samples is really taking up space, that would be a good addition to a new machine, the ability to have some sort of storage that you can organize and browse through (and hear the sample, not comp based wav files that you have to import) and then call a specific sample to a pad, it would involve some sort of external visual interface probably, but could be included when makin the new box
