What is the story of SP-Forums.com ?

Does Roland kick in for the ho$ting? Who pays for the domain?

How did it start? Who runs it?

Is Jesus Christ the son of God?

Why do men have nipples?

Will the Tampa Bay Rays win the MLB AL East?

Long long ago, in the before time, keesj started it. AFAIK he pays for everything. We give thanks. A Roland rep comes by occasionally, but they aren't paying or anything. If men had no nipples, where would they keep their nipple clamps? Jesus is no more or less the sun of God than I am. He just had better PR. :)

Lol, right on. Love the type there also... 'sun'. I respect all religions, but if you're interested in finding out why I think 'sun' is a bit funny here.. just watch the Zeitgeist movie. Of course, perhaps you were in fact hinting to that.

Yes big thanks to Keesj for making and maintaining the forums.
I found them around x-mas 2006 when I got my 404 and I think the forums had just started.

Zeitergeist is a funny little movie but I wouldn't consider it the truth about things either. There's even a website that points out fact by fact that the information on the movie is not true....

To keesj:

Have you ever thought of any fund raising ideas, such as stickers or shirts? http://www.contagiousgraphics.com has super cheap stickers and shirts, and I've used them before and they're reliable. I would pay for SP-forums stickers, or even a shirt, to help fund the site!!!

Also, I haven't seen a donation link, I would be willing to donate a few dubcats every now and then through Paypal or other means to help the site out. I know this site costs money, and I'd be willing to contribute!

Don't forget that you started the Battle Arena IG9, I'll have to order that book.

What is the story of SP-Forums.com ?

Chulukinat (my brother) was a SP use. He came up with the idea for a discussion board just for SP stuff. Since developing websites is one of my hobbies he talked to me about it and we set up the forums. He posted the link on a couple of forums he frequently visited and before we know it SP Tips 'N Tricks (that's how it was called originally) was running :).

After that we didn't do a whole lot. We moved to a new name (SP-Forums.com) and basically let you guys set up the community, arena, etc. :D

Does Roland kick in for the ho$ting? Who pays for the domain?

We pay for the hosting and domain ourselves.

How did it start? Who runs it?

I currently "run" the forums. I just visit now and then to make sure everything runs smoothly. But I mostly rely on the community to contact me if I need to ban some spammer for example. :)

Euclid Ov Oåklånd and Wax Inspektor are currently running The Arena. iG9 and juxt have in the past. I really hope I didn't forget anyone

Is Jesus Christ the son of God?
Why do men have nipples?
Will the Tampa Bay Rays win the MLB AL East?

I have no idea.

Currently SP-Forums doesn't cost a lot to run, but if it gets more popular and/or we want to develop it further donations might be an option. But for now I can't ask for donations since I'm not yet sure if we need them.

I like the idea of 'SP-FORUMS'-branded stickers and shirts though. I live in The Netherlands though so shipping would be too expensive. I know some websites take care of all that so that might be an option. I will look into that :).
