Are all 1gb compact Compact Flash card compatible with 404?

Obviously wanted to get the fastest loading type, but i know some cards aren't compatible with some hardware types.

Anybody know of any CF cards that don't work with the 404?

Hi, possibly not - they're still a bit expensive to take a chance on - helps if you have other CF gear that can use it if the 404 won't.

It might be a good idea to put it a computer card reader and format it to FAT (not FAT32) before trying in a 404 if it isn't already FAT. The 404 will still want to format it but FAT is nearer to the 404 format than FAT32.

Kingston cards are pretty reliable.

hmm, what about a SanDisk Extreme III CompactFlash 1GB?
I know the 'Extreme' cards won't always work with some equipment.
SP404 maybe?

The extreme cards work fine on the 606 and the 404 is newer so should pose no problems..

i had a kodak 1G i bought for $70 a year ago that wouldn't work, so I went and bought a sandisk extreme III 1g and it works perfectly.
