Filtering bass questions
yo regaz, my question is about filtering bass from a sample...what is your process to do that? I usually filter the sample (tnx Juxt) with the Lo Fi filter (Efx 14) and than i use some vinyl sim comp and eq, but the bass isn't really fat...do you filter the sample one time and then you apply eq and comp. or do you filter the sample different time? do you made a copy of the sample without bass (with the Isolator) and a copy with the filtered bass and then you mix them together? i'm really interested to read the precise proces that you use to do that, tnx Sp-heads for sharing your knowledge.

sometimes its just the sample itself that lacks in the low end. especially much older stuff. I do pretty much the same thing u do except I use the isolator if im on the 404 and super filter if im on the 555. Not a huge difference there. One thing u can try is using the subsonic on our bass b4 u compress it. Just make sure u match the pitch right and that can make a big difference.
